The purpose of this study is to assess the extent to which People with Disabilities are included in civil protection and disaster risk reduction procedures in the cross-border area of the Interreg IPA CBC Greece-Albania 2014-2020 Program.
In addition, the research aims to assess the level of awareness among people with disabilities of society in relation to the needs, real risks and types of exclusion faced by people with disabilities in times of risk of natural disasters.
The reference area from the Albanian side covers four (4) regions (Vlora, Berat, Korca, Gjirokaster) and from the Greek side eleven (11) Regional Units (Grevena, Kastoria, Florina, Ioannina, Arta, Preveza, Thesprotia, Corfu, Kefallinia, Zakynthos and Lefkada).
The telephone survey was conducted on men and women over the age of 17, with random stratified sampling, according to the population ratios of each district with ex-post weightings by gender and age. In particular, stratification disability in the following areas: (a) Seeing, (b) Hearing, (c) Mobility, (d) Perception, (e) Self-care, (f) Communication.
